What do movie projectors, cash registers, space food, and parachutes all have in common? They were all invented in Dayton, Ohio. But that shouldn’t surprise you — Dayton holds the title of having more patents-per-person than any other city in the country. It is also home to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and is one of the leading engineering and aerospace cities in the nation.

The city and its 160,000 residents are located in Montgomery County, in the southeast section of the state. According to the 2000 US Census, Dayton is home to more than 3,000 Hispanic or Latino descendants.
